Winkle Enters the Pneumatics Market

Winkle Electric has just finalized a contract making them the latest distributor for SMC Pneumatics. The deal marks Winkle's initial venture into the pneumatics market and is a step away from the traditional electrical products that have been distributed by the company in the past.

"We will continue to focus on electrical products - they are the backbone of the company," said Bob Conger, Vice President of Sales. "With most of these products residing on our networks or being controlled by our I/O, it makes sense for us to be able to specify and supply these products as a part of our lean automation solutions."

Escort Memory Systems (EMS) is a leading manufacturer of industrial-grade RFID hardware, and the entire product line is now available through Winkle Electric.With 20 years of industry experience manufacturing tags, antennas, controllers and network/PLC interface modules, EMS' dedication to quality is evident in the modular, rugged nature of their products.

Antennas/Controllers EMS has more than 40 antenna models varying in shape and size for specific application requirements. Read ranges with their systems vary from several inches to several feet, depending on antenna and tag. EMS antennas always carry industrial ratings consistent with the environments they operate in.

Tags EMS offers more than 100 different models of tags. Tags vary in standards and adhere to a variety of sizes and memories. No matter what your application, EMS has an RFID tag to fit. On January 5th, 2006 Winkle Electric and Rockwell Automation sales personnel and executives met to celebrate Winkle's appointment as an authorized Rockwell "Automation Distributor." Winkle Electric was one of the first distributors in the country to achieve this elite status.

"It is very gratifying to receive this exclusive designation," said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Bob Conger. "It's testament to the talent and dedication of our employees that we were able to meet these requirements as quickly as we did." The Automation Distributor appointment is a new contract designed by Rockwell Automation in an effort to provide consistent "best of class" representation of their products and services nationwide. Distributors must meet or exceed a stringent set of requirements including sales growth, sales planning and execution, business system capabilities, employee expertise and financial strength.
